Cardiovascular medicine
The competence centre for cardiovascular medicine of Elisabeth-Krankenhaus is among the largest of its kind in Germany. The most modern high-performance devices covering the whole range of diagnostics and therapy of cardiovascular diseases and the experience of specialists of cardiology, angiology and radiology are available for your BodyGuard! check-up examination. The specialists will apply more than the traditional methods such as ECG, exercise ECG, and ultrasound of the heart and all large arterial vessels. State-of-the-art non-invasive imaging methods such as radiation-free magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computer tomography (CT) are used as a special feature of the diagnostics of diseases of the cardiovascular system.
General medicine and gastroenterology
The intestinal tract may be examined in the scope of the BodyGuard! check-up examination by means of magnetic resonance imaging or by endoscope – i.e. by means of a speculum examination. Both forms of examination serve the purpose of early diagnosis of tumour diseases and are usually easy to perform and cause no pain. The functionality of other abdominal organs – liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys – is checked as well. This is completed by examinations of the thyroid gland and the lungs as well as a test that reveals whether you have a predisposition for diabetes mellitus.
Gynaecology
One aspect of the BodyGuard! check-up examination for women focuses on preventive examinations of cancer. In order for this to be achieved all modern diagnostic methods such as ultrasound, mammography, computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are available. The determination of the hormone status and an osteoporosis consultation are also included in the program.
Laboratory medicine
The affiliated high-quality laboratory medicine at BodyGuard! is an indispensable means for the specialists. The preliminary stages of many diseases are expressed in changes of blood parameters. Examinations of urine and stools may also provide information about the physical condition. Therefore, laboratory analysis plays an important role in the diagnosis and forms the basis of further individually adjusted examinations. All laboratory values determined in the scope of the BodyGuard! checkup examination are available within a couple of hours.
Sports and Occupational traumatology
The BodyGuard! check-up offers you the medical examination of your entire locomotor system. During such examination, images of the joints may be produced by ultrasound without pain and exposure to radiation. If required, a magnetic resonance imaging of one or more joints or of the spinal cord is carried out. Based on the corresponding findings, a detailed and individual support in sports physiology and industrial physiology is offered, also with regard to possible, in most cases minimal invasive surgical interventions.
Memory-Clinic
The specialist team of the Memory-Clinic, an outpatient counselling service, has been engaged in memory disorders for years. On request these specialists may investigate the causes in the scope of a BodyGuard! check-up and make recommendations as to how to address the same.
Neurology and pain medicine
The specialist field of neurology deals with the central and the peripheral nervous system, the musculature and the central vascular system. In addition to education and prevention – e.g. stroke prophylaxis – this area of competence plays a decisive part in the BodyGuard! check-up, most of all in the rapid analysis of acute complaints such as headache or migraine.
Mental coaching
BodyGuard! does not only engage in your physical health but is concerned about the mental and psychological wellbeing of the individual. In this respect, coaching, conflict management, counselling and psychological hygiene are offered. This includes aspects of industrial and organisational psychology.
